Bishopston Trading Company
The Bishopston Trading Company is a Workers' co-operative set up in 1985 to create employment in the South Indian village of K. V. Kuppam and to strengthen the village's long link with Bishopston in Bristol.
The clothes are made exclusively to our design by a team of 220 cutters, tailors, hand finishers, embroiderers and craft workers and further 250 handloom weavers.
Profits not used to grow the business, to create more employment, are used to benefit the people of K. V. Kuppam through our registered charity, the South Indian Rural Development Trust.
